Abstract:An iodine-catalyzed method has been reported for efficient regioselective C-3 sulfenylation, selenylation, thiocyanation, and selenocyanation of NH-free 7-azaindoles using thiophenols, diselenides, potassium thiocyanates, and selenocyanates, respectively.
