Iodolactonization

Abstract: The transformation of β,γ‐ or γ,δ‐unsaturated carboxylic acid derivatives into either a five‐or six‐membered lactone in the presence of a positive iodine source with concomitant group and face selectivity is commonly referred to as the iodolactonization.
