Abstract:The stopping power and other transport coefficients have been calculated for ionized beams channeling through a crystal using a statistical method developed by Chnndrasckhar. Only the interaction of beam particles with conduction electrons, treated as a free gas, is considered. Unlike earlier investigations, also the effect on the test particles of encounters with faster field particles is considered. Two types of potentials have been used, a Debye and a Coulomb one. Both potentials give nearly the same result… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
