Abstract:Catalytic decomposition of hydrazine over Ir/γ‐Al2O3 was investigated using catalysts with different Ir content. The catalysts were characterized by XRD, XRF, BET, and TEM. Results indicated that with increasing Ir content from 5.6 to 40.8 wt%, the BET surface area and pore volume decreased. This decrease was more significant when Ir content increased from 34.3 to 40.8 wt%. Reactor tests also indicated that the maximum stable reactor pressure of 2180 kPa with the time of about 400 milliseconds to obtain this p… Show more
“…26 Also, the reason for the N 2 H 4 decomposition activity differences between Ir and Ru catalysts is still unclear. [27][28][29] On the other hand, the current synthetic methods for heavy-loading Ir and Ru catalysts are inconvenient, usually requiring multiple repetitive impregnation processes. 30 In this study, we synthesized Ir and Ru catalysts with homogeneous dispersion by a one-step polyol method.…”
Hydrazine (N2H4) is a great medium for hydrogen storage using Ir or Ru catalysts. In this study, heavy-loading and good-dispersion Ir and Ru catalysts were synthesized by one-step polyol method....

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
