Iron, ruthenium and osmium

Abstract: This chapter reviews the literature reported during 2011 on the elements iron, ruthenium and osmium. HighlightsThe individual compound of greatest interest is a molecular iron complex that reacts with N 2 on reduction forming a nitride complex which reacts with acid and with H 2 forming ammonia. The isolation of a stable iron(V) nitride complex is also noteworthy.
