“…The lack of energy necessary for social interactions combined with a simultaneous sense of social isolation explains such a strong positive relation between the anxiety-depressive syndrome and the motivation to cope with loneliness caused by watching TV series and the negative relation with social motivation. The characters of the series replace social connections so that individuals do not feel so lonely (Starosta et al, 2019;Bernhold and Metzger, 2020;Ort et al, 2021).
