Is Gestational Diabetes Mellitus Associated with the Metabolic Syndrome?

Abstract: Aim: Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) accounts for 1-14% of pregnancies. Insulin resistance (IR) plays a role in pathophysiology as it is in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and Metabolic Syndrome (MS). Therefore, these three clinical situations are thought to be related to each other.
