Is haloperidol or a benzodiazepine the safest treatment for acute psychosis in the critically ill patient?

Abstract: A best evidence topic in cardiac surgery was written according to a structured protocol. The question addressed was whether haloperidol or a benzodiazepine is the safest treatment for acute psychosis in the critically ill patient.
