Abstract: Introduction: Idiopathic cervical dystonia, also known as spasmodic torticollis, is the most common form of focal dystonia in adults. Cervical dystonia usually appears between the ages of 30 and 50, twice as often in women, and is characterised by uncontrollable painful contractions of the sternocleidomastoid muscle, which results in misalignment of the head and shoulder.
