Is there a synaesthetic personality profile? Characterising synaesthetes’ singularity

Abstract: In synaesthesia, senses are ‘blended together’ and experiences in one sensory modality produce additional sensations in another modality. Not only do synaesthetes perceive the world in a different way, but they also seem to present a unique set of behaviours, cognitions, and emotional patterns. The current literature review aims to give a brief overview of the research conducted to date on synaesthetes’ personality, identifying key directions for future research.
