Abstract:Primary stroke prevention in non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) is primarily with non-vitamin K oral anticoagulant (NOAC) therapy. However, 20–36% of ischaemic strokes seem to occur in patients with atrial fibrillation while already on anticoagulation.
