Ischemic Intestinal Injury during Cardiopulmonary Bypass Does Not Show an Association with Neutrophil Activation

Abstract: Background: Neutrophil activation and tissue sequestration are crucial events in intestinal ischemia-reperfusion injury, but their role in the gut wall after clinical cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) remains unclear.
