Isobaric Vapor–Liquid Equilibrium for Two Binary Systems{Propane-1,2-diol + Ethane-1,2-diol and Propane-1,2-diol + Butane-1,2-diol} at p = (10.0, 20.0, and 40.0) kPa

Abstract: Isobaric vapor−liquid equilibrium (VLE) data for the two binary systems of {propane-1,2-diol + ethane-1,2-diol and propane-1,2diol + butane-1,2-diol} at p = (10.0, 20.0, and 40.0) kPa have been determined using a modified Rose−Williams still with continuous circulation of both vapor and liquid phases in this work. The thermodynamic consistency tests of the experimental VLE data were performed according to the methods of the Herington area test and Van Ness point test. The experimental isobaric VLE data were th… Show more

“…The temperature was obtained with a precise mercury thermometer (Tianjin Glass Instrument Factory) with a precision of 0.02 K. The uncertainties of the pressure and temperature measurements were 0.30 kPa and 0.05 K, respectively. The detailed descriptions of the apparatus and the experimental method were given in the previous literature. …”

“…When the vapor or liquid temperature fluctuations remain near a value (less than 0.1 K) for more than 40 min, the equilibrium was reached, and the vapor and the liquid samples could be pulled out for analysis. According to a previous experiment, we made sure that the experimental apparatus and the operation procedure were reliable. , …”
