“…The FTS from the fet3D cells were incubated with acid phosphatase (PPX) as described. 37 a low-intensity copper peak in the region between 1300-1000 Da was evident when the ordinate scale was expanded. The peak at B5200 Da was absent in traces from cup1D cells (Fig.…”

“…The compositions of MM and CSM have been described. 37 Cells were harvested at early-exponential phase OD 600 = 0.6 ± 0.2 for MM and OD 600 = 3.0 ± 0.1 for CSM. Additional conditions for individual batches are listed in Table 1 .…”

“…Beyond that, V-ATPase is essential for vacuolar activity, including the storage of ions. One particularly important stored ion is phosphate, which is used by the vacuole to sequester metals (Nguyen et al, 2019). High concentrations of stored phosphate have been demonstrated to resist oxidative stress in yeast (Lev et al, 2017;Johnston and Strobel, 2019).…”

“…13,177 Vacuoles typically store iron as Fe III polyphosphates. 178 Mobilization of Fe III requires reduction to the Fe II state followed by export via the {Fet5:Fth1;Fre6} complex. Electrons used for reduction are provided by NADPH via Fre6, which, like Fre1, contains a bis-Heme b center.…”
