Isolated Luxatio Erecta Femoris – Case Series and Review of Literature

Abstract: Introduction: Luxatio erecta femoris or inferior hip dislocation is the rarest type of hip dislocation. It can be caused by a severe trauma to the hip and the mechanism of injury is often very complex. Very few cases have been reported in the literature, and often associated with other musculoskeletal injuries. Overall about 3026 cases were reported till recently.
