Abstract: The emergence of antibiotic resistance in pathogenic bacteria has heightened the need for new antibiotics. Streptomycetes are filamentous gram-positive bacteria that are ubiquitous and present in saline soil and produce antibiotics as secondary metabolites under stressful conditions.
