“…In this regard, spin diffusion technique, a complement to the hetero nuclear multiple bond correlation, has provided positive results on the determination of linkage pattern of exopolysaccharide monomers (Vincent and Zwahlen, 2000). Recently suggestions have been made on the use of deuterium-induced differential isotope shifts to analyze the linkage pattern of exopolysaccharides monomers which can be a good substitute to twodimensional nuclear magnetic resonance technique and shaped pulses since these techniques result in the deletion of methylation step, leading to direct inspection of nuclear magnetic resonance of polysaccharide complex molecules (Navarini et al, 2001;Bendiak, 2002). In general, analysis and differentiation of different exopolysaccharides in various taxa of different groups of lactic acid bacteria by traditional and conventional methods assess the number of monosaccharides present in the repeating backbone units of oligosaccharide molecules which reflect the sugar residual numbers in the main oligosaccharide chain.…”
