Isolation of Bovine leukemia virus from cows with persistent lymphocytosis in Iraq

Abstract

Highlights This study includes the first report on the isolation of the BLV virus in Iraq ever. Cattle infected with PL can only be the source for viral isolation. Cytopathological features of the virus infection are differ depending on the cell type. The virus can be propagated in different cell types including human cells. This study describes first cellular and genotyping characterization for BLV virus Iraqi strain.
