Isolation of Mycoplasmas and Acholeplasmas from Pneumonic Lesions in Sheep and Goats in India

Abstract: Summary The pneumonic lungs of 38 sheep and 62 goats were examined for Mycoplasma and Acholeplasma and they were isolated and their preliminary biochemical characterization determined from the pneumonic lungs of 13 of 38 sheep and 17 of 62 goats. Various species of Mycoplasma and Acholeplasma were finally identified from 18 of the 30 original cultures. They comprised M. arginini in 13 cases (4 sheep and 9 goats), A. laidlawii in 3 cases (2 sheep and 1 goat), and M. agalactiae and M. capricolum in one goat each… Show more
