“…For example, MLS (C 17 H 13 NO 3 , orthorhombic Pna2 1 ) has realized a THz output range from 1.23-14.09 THz and 16.90-18.59 THz for the first time in an isoxazolone-based system, and OH-IPO (C 13 H 13 NO 3 , orthorhombic Fdd2) was able to achieve a tunable terahertz-wave range from 1 to 11 THz in 2020 via the difference frequency generation method. [31][32][33][34] However, not all requirements are satisfied in these discovered crystals, and sustained efforts are needed to improve their comprehensive properties. Therefore, isoxazolone-based NLO crystals still have a broad exploration prospect by rational design of their internal structures.…”

“…Recently developed isoxazolone-based NLO crystals represented by MLS (C 17 H 13 NO 3 , Pna2 1 ) are considered as potential THz NLO materials due to their excellent nonlinearity and high physicochemical stability. 29,30 However, large sized crystals with high quality in this series are not easy to obtain mostly caused by anisotropy in the crystal growth process, which hinders their in-depth study. 31 In order to improve comprehensive performance (nonlinearity, mor- phology, stability, etc.…”

“…Except famous molecular type NLO crystals of isophorone-based OH1 (C 19 H 18 N 2 O, Pna 2 1 , d 33 = 120 pm/V at 1.9 μm) and nitroaniline-based BNA (C 14 H 14 N 2 O 2 , Pna 2 1 , d 33 = 234 pm/V at 1064 nm), which suffer from limited transparency region and low thermal stability, not many crystals belonging to this type have realized efficient THz wave generation.
