ISSR molecular markers for the study of the genetic diversity of Mimosa caesalpiniaefolia Benth.

Abstract: Knowledge of the genetic diversity of the threatened tree species in the Brazilian semiarid region may contribute to the creation of effective strategies for their preservation and future use. The aim of this study was to select ISSR (Inter-Simple Sequence Repeat) primers capable of detecting genetic polymorphism among Mimosa caesalpiniaefolia Benth. individuals for a study of the genetic diversity of this species. A total of 27 ISSR primers were tested for their ability to amplify genomic DNA of three individ… Show more

“…Apesar de ser bastante utilizado em trabalho de diversidade genética, a porcentagem de locos polimórficos são bastante variáveis (SOARES et al, 2016), já que o polimorfismo pode variar em função dos genótipos avaliados (ARAÚJO et al, 2016).…”

“…In this study, two types of molecular markers were used to access the genetic diversity of Helosis brasiliensis: ISSR (Inter Simple Sequence Repeat) markers and ribosomal ITS (Internal Transcribed Spacer) DNA sequences. ISSR are efficient and provide high reproducibility markers, since the primers anneal in specific regions of the genome and present quite variable banding patterns (LORENZONI et al, 2014;SILVA et al, 2016;ARAÚJO et al, 2016;ABDELAZIZ et al, 2020). ITS are located between the 18S 5.8S and 28S genes.…”
