It’s Housebuilding But Not as We Know It: The Impact of Neighbourhood Planning on Development in England

Abstract: Community opposition to house-building has been cited as one of the key factors in the decline in new housing supply over the last decade. The policy of neighbourhood planning was introduced to England in 2011 to overcome this opposition by devolving limited powers to communities to influence development.
