Study design Systematic review of Randomised controlled trials. Objectives With the increasing incidence of back pain among children and its untold implications to their future, back education tailored in an effective way would be indicated. However literature appears unsettled. This study aims to review available literature to determine the effect of school-based back education in preventing and managing low back pain in school children. Methods Randomized controlled trials carried out on elementary and secondary school children of ages 6 to 18 years and published in English language were included. Back education taught in hospitals or other settings were excluded. Primary outcome was back pain prevalence and secondary outcomes were constituted from the study characteristics of selected studies which includes: back behavior, knowledge, postural habits, physical activity, fear-avoidance beliefs, back pack carriage, pain intensity, skills and self efficacy. Databases searched were PEDro, HINARI, PubMed, Cochrane, and Google Scholar. Available stiudies from 2000 to March 2022 were retrieved. Quality of studies were assessed using the PEDro scale. Obtained studies were descriptively analyzed. Results A total 8420 studies were retrieved and 8 studies (with 1239 participants) were included in this review. Four studies each assessed back knowledge and back behavior, and two assessed back pain prevalence. There were improvements in back knowledge and back behaviour, but effectiveness of back care education on back pain prevalence was not conclusive. Forms of education used involved the indirect method of conditioning the environment and the direct method which made use of theory, practical lessons and educational books and materials. Conclusion Back care education programmes in schools are effective in improving back care knowledge, behavior and reduction in low back pain frequency. Reduction in back pain prevalence is not conclusive. Back care education could be incorporated as part of schools’ education programmes. Limitations include exclusion of non English language studies and inconsistent outcome measures. Funding source None. As an artist, humanist, and religious leader, A. Mustofa Bisri's literary works have a distinctive character and contain a lot of educational value. This study aims to describe the use of diction, imagery, and style of language in A. Mustofa Bisri's short story collection Konvensi, as well as the use of the results of this study in learning Indonesian in high school. This research method is descriptive qualitative with a stylistic approach. The data sources are 15 short stories and 5 high school teachers in Surakarta. Data collection was carried out by document analysis and interviews. Data validity test was carried out using theoretical triangulation techniques and data source triangulation. Data analysis was carried out using a flowing model. The results of this study are as follows: (1) in the collection of short stories Konvensi there are 7 types of diction and concrete words dominate; (2) there are 7 types of images and the one that appears most often is the image of feelings; (3) there are 23 types of figurative language and the dominant one is the repetition style; and (4) the results of the analysis of the use of diction, imagery, and relevant language styles are utilized in learning to read and write short story texts in Indonesian subjects for grade 11 high school because they contain a variety of writing styles so as to enrich students' insights in literary literacy.

Students’ Creative Writings Mirroring the Social Reality

This article analyses a total of forty-six students’ writings from Grade 11 to master’s level published in one of the college’s annual magazines. Among them 24 are females and 22 are males. This research uses a qualitative content analysis method to analyze the students’ writings under various topics and genres to unearth their concerns. Although there are multiple studies on students’ creative writings focusing on the technical and gender aspects, only a few studies focus on the issues reflected in their contents. This research believes that students’ creative writings are significant as they give information about the issues, interests, and concerns from students’ perspectives. The students’ writings also reflect their concerns and awareness of students regarding various social issues in their writings. The findings from this study revealed that students are concerned about multiple social and political issues in Nepal such as poverty, political corruption, cultural issues, gender discrimination, caste discrimination, and women issues. Moreover, life is a dominant theme in both male and female writings and they are concerned about their life, future goals, and responsibility toward their parents. Some shared themes are the challenges of staying away from parents for study purposes, caste discrimination, gender discrimination, poverty, child labor, and women-related issues. Females have written personalized writings with varieties of issues and dark themes than males and the themes in their writings suggest their struggle in a patriarchal society, social restrictions, gender discrimination, and women violence against males’ writings on general themes such as loss of human values, loss of culture, and struggle of orphaned children.
