As a leading figure of the fifth generation of Chinese directors, Zhang Yimou and his films are well known at home and abroad. This paper selects Zhang Yimou and his works as the subject of analysis to explore the factors contributing to the popularity of his films from internal and external perspectives. Furthermore, it discusses the significance of Zhang Yimou's films to the development of Chinese films and the exchange and cooperation of world films which includes: enhancing global understanding of Chinese culture, integrating diverse cultural appeals, and promoting commercial film development. Finally, through the analysis of Zhang Yimou's films, this paper addresses three major challenges currently faced by the Chinese film industry.

Fame di risoAs influências para que surgisse a commedia all'italiana cinematográfica vieram de diversos campos: além da tradição cômica literária e teatral, outro fator que contribuiu para a composição do gênero, foi o chamado teatro de variedades, ou seja, aqueles espetáculos populares que reuniam diversos artistas em um mesmo espaço com suas diversas atrações para distrair e divertir o público. Nesses espetáculos, também chamados de vaudeville 1 , a presença de elementos como comicidade, erotismo e imaginação/fantasia (através dos truques de ilusionismos) eram obrigatórias para o sucesso de público.No âmbito da cinematografia, podemos citar o fator fundamental da colaboração dos primeiros cômicos italianos, já que muitos deles provinham do próprio teatro de variedades, de circos e de cafés-concerto. Tais artistas decidiram tentar carreira no cinema e obtiveram enorme popularidade com curtas-metragens protagonizados por suas personagens fixas, como por exemplo, as de Cretinetti, Robinet, Tontolini e Polidor. Ainda no que tange à commedia all'italiana, não podemos deixar de mencionar o período conhecido como telefoni bianchi, fase do cinema italiano na qual foi grande a produção de comédias, muitas delas providas de elementos realistas, muito embora de ínfimo tratamento crítico (já prevendo o crivo da censura fascista). Como indica Giacovelli, ser realista nesse momento do regime não era um obstáculo, desde que fosse um realismo, por assim dizer, 'socialmente contido':
