“…The series of Courses for the Academic Development of Psychiatrists (CADP) in Japan was planned and initiated in 2002 by Professor Norman Sartorius, a former World Psychiatric Association (WPA) president, in collaboration with Professor Mitsumoto Sato, the then President of the Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology (JSPN). The first CADP was held on 20–23 February 2002, in Kobe, Japan (Uehara et al , 2009; Matsumoto et al , 2010).
