Hyper-graphs offer the opportunity to formulate logical statements about their components, for example, using Horn clauses. Several models of Information Systems can be represented using hyper-graphs as the workflows, i.e., the business processes. During the modeling of Information Systems, many constraints should be maintained during the development process. The models of Information Systems are complex objects, for this reason, the analysis of algorithms and graph structures that can support the consistency and integrity of models is an essential issue. A set of interdependencies between models and components of architecture can be formulated by functional dependencies and can be investigated via algorithmic methods. Information Systems can be perceived as overarching documents that includes data collections; documents to be processed; and representations of business processes, activities, and services. Whe selecting and working out an appropriate method encoding of artifacts in Information Systems, the complex structure can be represented using hyper-graphs. This representation enables the application of various model-checking, verification, and validation tools that are based on formal approaches. This paper describes the proposed representations in different situations using hyper-graphs, moreover, the formal, algorithmic-based model-checking methods that are coupled with the representations. The model-checking methods are realized by algorithms that are grounded in graph-theoretical approaches and tailored to the specificity of hyper-graphs. Finally, the possible applications in a real-life enterprise environment are outlined.

Repurposing Zileuton as a Depression Drug Using an AI and In Vitro Approach

Repurposing drugs to target M1 macrophages inflammatory response in depression constitutes a bright alternative for commonly used antidepressants. Depression is a significant type of mood disorder, where patients suffer from pathological disturbances associated with a proinflammatory M1 macrophage phenotype. Presently, the most commonly used antidepressants such as Zoloft and Citalopram can reduce inflammation, but suffer from dangerous side effects without offering specificity toward macrophages. We employed a new strategy for drug repurposing based on the integration of RNA-seq analysis and text mining using deep neural networks. Our system employs a Google semantic AI universal encoder to compute sentences embedding. Sentences similarity is calculated using a sorting function to identify drug compounds. Then sentence relevance is computed using a custom-built convolution differential network. Our system highlighted the NRF2 pathway as a critical drug target to reprogram M1 macrophage response toward an anti-inflammatory profile (M2). Using our approach, we were also able to predict that lipoxygenase inhibitor drug zileuton could modulate NRF2 pathway in vitro. Taken together, our results indicate that reorienting zileuton usage to modulate M1 macrophages could be a novel and safer therapeutic option for treating depression.

Açık kaynak ve özgür yazılımın yüksek standartları dünya çapında yaygın olarak kullanılmaktayken ülkemizde yükseliş trendi biraz daha geriden gelmektedir. Buna rağmen kamuda da kullanımı yaygınlaşmakta, iyi örnekler her geçen gün artmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Gelir İdaresi Başkanlığı tarafından hizmete sunulan Defter-Beyan Sistemi'nin açık kaynak kapsamı iyi bir mühendislik örneği olarak anlatılmaktadır. Yalnızca geliştirme sırasında kullanılan bileşenler değil, sistemin hayata geçirilmesinden sonra sağlık taraması ve izleme amaçlı kullanılan araçlar ile ilgili bilgilendirmelere de yer verilmiştir. Yapılan çalışmalardan elde edilen sonuçlar gösteriyor ki, tamamen açık kaynak ile geliştirilmiş ve sürdürülen bir kamu projesi doğru mühendislik uygulamaları ile birleştiğinde ticari herhangi bir alternatifine ihtiyaç duymadan sürdürülebilmektedir.
