“…Strain 40Bstr34 T could be differentiated from J. aquimaris and J. endophytica by its much higher proportion of iso-C 17 : 0 3-OH. Q-10 was detected as the principal respiratory quinone in strain 40Bstr34 T , which is in accordance with other members of the genus Jiella [1, 2]. The polar lipid profile of strain 40Bstr34 T was composed of phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylmonomethylethanolamine, diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylcholine, two unidentified amino lipids (AL1, AL2) and two unidentified lipids (L1, L2).…”

“…At the time of writing, this genus includes two species with validly published names: Jiella aquimaris and Jiella endophytica (https://lpsn.dsmz.de/genus/jiella). Members of the genus Jiella are characterized as Gram-stain-negative, oxidase- and catalase-positive, rod shaped, aerobic, and chemotaxonomically with summed feature 8 (C 18 : 1 ω 6 c and/or C 18 : 1 ω7 c ) and cyclo-C 19 : 0 ω8 c as major cellular fatty acids, with ubiquinone-10 (Q-10) as the major ubiquinone, and by DNA G+C content between 66 and 68 % [1, 2]. Here we describe a novel strain, designated strain 40Bstr34 T , using a polyphasic taxonomic approach.…”

“… Jiella aquimaris , Jiella endophytica and Jiella pacifica were isolated from offshore surface seawater [1], root of Ficus microcarpa Linn. f. [2] and surface seawater of the West Pacific Ocean [3], respectively, indicated that members of the genus Jiella were of marine origin. Species affiliated to the genus Jiella have common characteristics.…”

“…The polar lipid profile of strain Table 3. Differential characteristics between strains MQZ13P-4 T and the type strains of phylogenetically related species Strains: 1, MQZ13P-4 T ; 2, Jiella endophytica CBS5Q-3 T ; 3, Jiella aquimaris JCM 30119 T [2]. All strains were positive for catalase, oxidase, hydrolysis of Tween 40, urease, acid phosphatase, alkaline phosphatase, esterase, esterase lipase, leucine arylamidase and naphthol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase.…”
