“…The current study found that there is a moderate negative correlation between job satisfaction and turnover intention, implying that an increase in job satisfaction results in a decrease in turnover intention. These results are analogous to the findings of Che Nawi et al (2016) that increased job satisfaction ultimately leads to higher profitability and longer tenure. On the other hand, the second bivariate correlation analysis involving job satisfaction and service performance also shows that there exists a positive and strong association between the two variables.…”

“…Several studies have found a correlation between job satisfaction and turnover intention (Reukauf, 2018;Zito et al, 2018;Milana, 2018). Increased job satisfaction contributes to increased profitability and tenure for the company (Che Nawi et al, 2016). In addition, the study of Mbah andIkemefuna (2012 as cited in Alam andAsim, 2019) in Total Nigeria revealed that high job satisfaction lessens the probability of turnover intention.…”

“…Lecturer job satisfaction presents the employees’ actual perception of the job and could exhibit the real performance at the workplace. The literature supported the argument highlighting that employees are more productive and able to play a significant role in higher organizational effectiveness ( Che Nawi et al, 2016 ; Jehanzeb and Mohanty, 2019 ; Jermsittiparsert et al, 2019 ). However, contradictory evidence has presented that job satisfaction may not necessarily lead to job performance ( French et al, 2020 ).…”

“…It also depicts the emotional state of pleasure as a result of the judgment over individuals’ jobs as achieving or enabling the achievement of their values ( Pham-Thai et al, 2018 ). However, job satisfaction among lecturers is dynamically significant in impacting the success of a university vision and mission ( Che Nawi et al, 2016 ). Extrinsic motivation (FRW, PRN, PAL) and intrinsic motivation (CET, CCT, ATM) have been demonstrated as the stimulus for overall job satisfaction ( Asaari et al, 2019 ; French et al, 2020 ).…”

“…Maintaining health in different aspects of life for both the faculty and the students of the academic institutions is crucial to the development of academic excellence and the propagation of optimal quality of life. On the other hand, Malaysian academics find it difficult to participate in teaching, consultation, supervision, research, and publication activities (Che Nawi et al, 2016;Ismail & Noor, 2016).…”
