Joining between Ceramics and Metal in Composite Pipes Fabricated by the SHS Metallurgical Process

Abstract: The design on joining of metal and ceramics in composite pipes fabricated by the SHS metallurgical process is carried on with adding (TiO2 +Al+C+Ni) subsystem in(CrO3+Al) system, and the composite pipes with three-layer structure of steel substrate, intermediate alloy and lined ceramics are fabricated with low cost and high performance. Combustion determination and mechanical test indicate that adding suitable amount of Ni powder in combustion system rather than (NiO+Al) subsystem can cause combustion behavior… Show more

“…In combination with the winding method the using of such materials allowed creating a number of unique constructions consisting of a steel (or different) cylinder and a multilayer cage of unidirectional composite. Besides fibrous materials, polyethylene or ceramics are used as a cage [3,4]. Pipes of polymer-reinforced concrete are becoming an attractive system for structural elements, designed for tough operating conditions [5][6][7][8][9][10].…”

“…The utilization of such materials in combination with winding method made it possible to create a number of unique structures consisting of a steel (or some other) cylinder and multilayer cage made of unidirectional composite. A wide range of materials is used as s cage: polyethylene [3], ceramics [4], carbon-filled plastics [5], glass fiber plastics [6,7]. The reinforced with fiberglass plastic used in work [8] instead of a reinforcement bar improves the strength of concrete structures in the comparison with conventional steel reinforcement due to the corrosion resistance of reinforcement bars.…”
