ABSTRUCT______the internet of things is the most widespread area of study which involves the sensing devices run on the internet based infrastructure. It introduce much innovations in IT industry. Now it is the most attractive area of attention in industries. Where IOT is the most emerging area, there are many challenges or critical issues that are faced by the IOT. The major issues are energy efficiency and scalability. These two issues create a big hurdle for the success of the IOT. In this paper we discuss the energy efficiency first describe its points its issues and then we describe the topologies to control the larger scale structure of IOT to reduce scalability. We hope that this research paper will be help full for the new researchers.

IoT is a system of connected devices which can be uniquely identified over a network and transfer huge amounts of data, communication, monitoring and remote control of automated devices through internet. IoT are generally designed as embedded systems and perform a critical role to support vertical applications by connecting heterogeneous devices. Since, IoT networks are usually resource constrained it makes them an easy target for cyber-attacks. Conventional authentication and authorization approaches based on static digital mechanism and computational complexity are not good enough. Isolated security designs for different layers and links while ignoring overall protection leads to cascading security risks as well as growing communication latency in IoT devices as well as traditional cryptographic approaches are not enough as the nodes have massive real time data, heterogeneity, extensive dynamic behavior of networks. Therefore, machine learning and deep learning provide embedded intelligence IoT uses enabling technologies such as Software Defined Systems (SDN) , cloud computing and fog computing.

Wireless sensor technology expands; a growing number of organizations are using it for a wide range of purposes. With the development of network and communication technology, the problem of wiring is solved with WSN into people's life; especially it has wide perception and viability in the area of remote sensing, industrial automation control, and domestic appliance and so on. WSN has good functions of data collection, transmission, and processing. It has many advantages compared to traditional wired network, for example, convenient organizing network, small influence to environment, low power dissipation, low cost, etc. But, they have a number of disadvantages, for example, complexity, large power dissipation, short distance, networking in small scale. In order to satisfy the demand of low power dissipation and low speed among wireless communication devices, a new type of wireless net technology-Zigbee emerges as the times require. ZigBEE technology is new technology that replaces the area of Bluetooth. After introduction of this technology a new meter reading that is based on ZIgbee protocol.ZigBee technology sensor network technology has come to be one of technological elementary essentials of us.
