Joint Resource and Trajectory Optimization for Energy Efficiency Maximization in UAV-Based Networks

Abstract: The explosive growth of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)-based networks has accelerated in recent years. One of the crucial tasks of a UAV-based network is managing and allocating resources, including time, power, fly trajectory, and energy resources. We investigate a UAV-based network that gathers information from smart devices, sensor devices, and IoT devices (IDs) with respect to energy efficiency (EE) maximization. The EE of users served by the UAV over the time slots of a cycle is maximized through three c… Show more

“…Similarly, in [56], a power allocation algorithm utilizing NOMA was proposed to maximize the total throughput. To increase energy efficiency, in [57], resource management and allocation were carried out step-bystep. Each equivalent problem is optimized over individual variables while keeping the other variables fixed.…”

“…A number of research efforts have started to use UAVs as different types of wireless communication platforms, i.e., UAVs equipped with edge servers can be flexibly deployed in specific areas to provide reliable uplink and downlink communications to ground users [31,32]. Therefore, UAV deployment has become a key discussion issue in academia.…”

“…Likewise, the IRS mostly requires an energy supply due to the lack of power amplifiers [ 160 ]. UAVs and AUVs, on the other hand, consume energy when they move around and forward signals [ 161 , 162 ]. As a result, an energy-efficient mechanism must be considered to address this issue.…”
