Abstract: The concept of DBPs in drinking water is a potentially alarming one for the non-technically minded water consumer and the water industry around the world needs to demonstrate that the health risks are understood and well-managed. The comparative risk from undisinfected water needs to be emphasised, and must underpin any initiative for DBP control.
