“…129,130 However, in a proteinuric condition, excessive unbound FFA is transformed into a maladaptive factor of macropinocytosis, which results in podocyte dysfunction and death. 129 Moreover, aside from accumulation of LDL-C, increased FFA is also closely related to activation of NF-κB, 131 as confirmed by our data. In this work, we found that there is obvious lipid dys-homeostasis in the kidneys by Oil red O staining, GC-MS analysis for FFA, and biochemical analysis for cholesterols, TGs, and lipoproteins.…”

“…Effect of DHA-PS on kidney dysfunction and lipid accumulation CRE and BUN, two essential kidney function biomarkers, are often used to determine the effect of drugs on kidney dysfunction (Jiang et al, 2020;Zhang et al, 2021). Previous studies have indicated that HFD could significantly increase the kidney function indicators, such as CRE and BUN (Li et al, 2021;Zhang et al, 2021). We found that the serum levels of CRE and BUN in the HFD group were significantly increased by 227.15% and 99.67% (39.88 ± 1.95 mmol/L vs. 12.19 ± 0.80 mmol/L and 18.29 ± 1.50 mmol/L vs. 9.16 ± 0.49 mmol/L, Accumulating evidence suggests that excess lipid deposition and lipid toxicity play a vital role in the pathogenic mechanism of HFD-induced kidney injury (Bulbul et al, 2018;De Vries et al, 2014).…”

“…In addition, some natural compounds can also regulate the expression or activity of HDAC3, exerting protective effects in various diseases in animal and cell models. For instance, juglanin prevents high-fat diet-induced renal injury by blocking the nuclear translocation of HDAC3 and NF-κB and thereby inhibiting inflammation and dyslipidemia [ 122 ]. miRNAs also play critical roles in nerve injury by targeting HDAC3 [ 123 , 124 ].…”
