“…Regardless of the concerns, Ghanaian teachers are mandated to adopt PBL in their classrooms, as done in the USA's Next Generation Science Standards [46]. Some studies on PBL have been conducted in the country targeting K-12 levels [39,40] and pre-service teachers [22,24,27,28]. Despite the mandatory utilization of PBL, limited studies have been conducted on teacher educators views and experiences, especially at colleges of education.…”

“…Like this, Abdu et al (2023) helped students create mental models of dynamic equilibrium by using a "liquid transfer" analogy. Constructivists view learning as a process of conceptual change (Zajda & Zajda, 2021) that entails reorganizing previously held conceptual frameworks to make it easier to absorb new information (Mohammed & Amponsah, 2021). Four elements were identified by Heddy et al (2018) as supporting conceptual change: dissatisfaction with existing concepts, plausibility given current knowledge, intelligibility of new conceptions, and capacity for expansion.…”

“…In inquiry-based learning, students are empowered to foster their understanding of educational principles through the formulation of inquiries, the design of experiments, and the execution of investigations. As substantiated by Akerson et al (2018), this approach has been demonstrated to enhance student comprehension of educational ideas while nurturing critical thinking and adept problem-solving skills (Mohammed & Amponsah, 2021a;Mohammed & Amponsah, 2021b). The Media and their wide-ranging effects have been around ever since humanity started organizing into tribes and developing methods of communication .…”
