The new Cretaceous genus Turgaphagites Lyubarsky et Perkovsky gen. nov. with type species Cryptophagites clavatus Ponomarenko, 1990 is described from the Turga Formation, Transbaikalia. The new genus is similar to the extant genera Micrambe Thomson, 1863 and Mnioticus Coombs & Woodroffe, 1962, but differs from them in its short metasternum. It is distinguished from other Cretaceous Cryptophaginae genera by the terminal tarsomere of hind leg being shorter, 0.7 times of the length the other tarsomeres combined, and metatorax short, its length 0.4 times its width. Supposed saprophagy of Turgaphagites is discussed.
