Abstract:We study kaon-nucleon interactions in the Skyrme model by using a modified bound state approach, where the kaon is introduced around the physical nucleon. The method is more suited to the study of weakly interacting kaon-nucleon systems. We have found a bound state with binding energy of order ten MeV. We also discuss theKN interaction and find that it consists of an attraction in the middle range and a repulsion in the short range.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
