The aim of this study is to determine the views of preservice science teachers, who participated in Science Teaching and Laboratory Practice I course, about science laboratory practices. As laboratory and experimental applications are important in science teacher education, the aim of this study is to reveal the views of preservice science teachers about experiments and using laboratory. The participants of the study consists of 37 preservice science teachers studying in the 3rd grade of science teacher education at Ziya Gokalp Faculty of Education at Dicle University. In the study, a questionnaire consisting of open-ended questions was applied as a data collection tool. Descriptive research model, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used to reveal the views of preservice science teachers about experiments and laboratory usage. According to the results, the positive and negative aspects of the students' views about science laboratory applications have emerged on the grounds of what they are. When the results were examined, it was seen that pre-service science teachers mostly had positive tendencies about laboratory and experiment applications and they supported these views for various reasons. However, when the results were examined, it was also revealed that the pre-service teachers had some negative attitudes according to the questions asked about the construction of experiments and laboratory applications. As a result, more importance should be given to the laboratory practices course, which is one of the the determining factors for preservice science teachers to develop a positive view towards science and in order to be successful and make a career in this field.
