Abstract:We present a novel technique for the design, optimization, and fabrication of plywood double-curvature building components, based on an ancient woodworking method known as kerfing. We explain the principles of geometric optimization, their implementation into computational algorithms, and show the first prototypes as proofs of concept (PoC).Keywords: CAD/CAM; Digital Fabrication; Kerfing; Complex Geometries
