Kesulitan Siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Matematika PISA-Like

Show more

“…The RS subject claimed not to remember the formula so he was confused about determining the mathematical concepts used to solve the problem. The results obtained by the researchers are in line with the research of Sujadi et al (2022) states that students' lack of understanding of the problem is because they are not used to doing math practice problems with PISA characteristics and do not know mathematical concepts make students experience confusion in solving problems. According to Mutia et (2021) teachers more often give rut in questions compared to non-routine questions to students so that students are not trained in solving non-routine problems such as those found in PISA.…”

“…According to the OECD, level 1 competence level demonstrates the lowest level of competence, where students are only able to respond to questions in the context of everyday situations using readily available information. In contrast, level 4 shows the highest level of competence, where students can generalize, conceptualize, and use information from complex situations (Murtiyasa & Perwita, 2020;Sujadi et al, 2022). Indonesian students can only use mathematical formulas based on direct instructions on questions, but they need to improve at problem-solving and contextual problems.…”

“…Indonesia has participated in an International program that could measure students' science literacy. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) administers the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), an International program that tests students' skills and knowledge in reading, mathematics, and science literacy to assess educational systems globally (Sujadi et al 2022;Setyawarno et al, 2021). PISA collects reliable information to compare the reading literacy, math literacy, and science literacy of students in a country with other participating countries and understand the strengths and weaknesses of each country's education system (Fitriyah, 2020).…”
