Liquefied dimethyl ether (L-DME) was used to dehydrate salvaged cyanobacteria slurry (SCS) and extract its organic matter. The dehydration rate and organic matter extraction efficiency were determined by mixing L-DME with SCS in a sealed reactor for 0–25 min, and the amount of solvent was 6–39 times that of SCS at a stirring rate of 0–800 rpm. Free water in SCS was removed entirely at an L-DME amount of 9 times, and then bound water was gradually removed with an increase in L-DME dosage, with a final SCS lowest moisture content of 16.64% at an L-DME amount of 39 times. Moreover, L-DME extracted 8.72%–21.15% of the organic matter from SCS, with almost complete lipid extraction. The phosphorus and nitrogen were also extracted because they mainly exist in phospholipids and proteins. Subsequently, the solid residue and liquid product were characterized, with fatty acids and plasticizers found in the liquid product. The dehydration rate and organic matter extraction efficiency were also investigated using ethanol as adjuvant of L-DME, with ethanol serving as an adjuvant. The performance of dehydration and organic matter extraction from SCS using L-DME was evaluated to explore the feasibility of applying this process to SCS treatment.

This study proposes to explore solid waste material (SWM) reuse with the riverway silt and sediment, and examines the impacts of chemical composition on the road construction through sensitivity analysis. Considering the characteristics of silt mixture, it is necessary to investigate the modi ed materials to improve the mechanical feasibility for subgrade lling. In this study, modi cation schemes for construction waste and garbage slag presented well mechanical properties and environmental bene ts in sensitivity analysis, especially for the high-water content silt modi ed by the garbage slag and lime mixture. The results indicate the lime-improved silt with medium water content is a cheap and highperformance material compared to the original silt. Moreover, modi ed silt demonstrated superior features in particle size, permeability and bearing capacity. Among six lime-improving schemes, the California bearer ratio (CBR 2.5 ) increased from 7.1 to 19.6, while the minimum CBR 2.5 was 2.45 times to the original silt. At last, this study proposes the engineering measures to improve the silt mixture subgrade to prevent heavy metals from polluting the water and soil environment. Further implications were also discussed.

Electrolysis zero-valent iron activated peroxymonosulfate (EZVI-PMS) was applied to enhance sludge dewaterability and disintegration performance. Sludge dewaterability was characterized by capillary suction time (CST), specific resistance to filtration (SRF), and disintegration performance was explored by measuring sludge DNA content, ammonia nitrogen, chemical oxygen demand (COD), extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) and dissolved organic carbon (DOC). EPS including soluble EPS (SB-EPS), loosely bound EPS (LB-EPS), tightly bound EPS (TB-EPS) were analyzed by three dimensional fluorescence excitation-emission spectrum (3D-EEM) to confirm the proteins transformation tendency. DOC, protein and polysaccharide in EPSs were quantified to investigate the conditioning mechanism. The results showed that sludge CST and SRF were reduced significantly when the current was 0.2 A and PMS dosage was 130 mg/gDS with the reductions of 43.8% and 74.1%, respectively, and DNA was released from sludge cells to liquid phase. Mechanically, sludge TB-EPS converted to SB-EPS with DOC in TB-EPS decreasing from 367.0 mg/L to 210 mg/L, while DOC in SB-EPS increased from 44 mg/L to 167.4 mg/L. Besides, the changes of proteins and polysaccharides contents in SB-EPS and TB-EPS were similar to DOC, and protein in TB-EPS transformed to other protein-like or organic substances obviously.
