Killing effect and translocation of picloram in the stem of aspen, Populus tremula

Abstract: Picloram was Injected to different depths in the stem.s of a.speii trees during spring and summer, and the killing effect on the foliage was studied. The efficacy of the applied dosage was correlated better to the surface area and volume of the stem than to the diameter. The young foliage was affected first by the herbieide. Both the xylem and the phloem were involved in the effects that resulted from translocation of the herbicide.
