Kinetic Effects of Glass Ceramic and Silver on Poly(vinyl butyral) Thermal Degradation Using FT-IR. 2

Abstract: The kinetic analysis of thermal degradation of poly(vinyl butyral) (PVB)/glass ceramic/Ag composites was performed using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectra and thermogravimetry (TG) data. Two significant stagessmain PVB degradation and residual carbon oxidations were observed for thermal oxidative degradation of the composites. The analytical results revealed that compositions of ceramic and silver in an air environment can greatly affect the thermal degradation. The reaction rates and pathways of ther… Show more

“…As known, PVB was often used as a binder in the dry pressing and tape casting of AlN ceramics and could be burned out in air at 600 °C [ 28 ]. To further study the change of PVB in Al(OH) 3 and carbon, the TG curves were measured by the single PVB, sample G (the single Al(OH) 3 ), H (Al(OH) 3 /PVB) and C (Al(OH) 3 /carbon black/PVB) as shown in Figure 8 .…”
