Abstract:This study studied the optimum nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) concentrations for biomass and astaxanthin production in Spirogyra sp. Spirogyra sp. was cultivated in Blue Green (BG) medium with N/P concentrations adjusted to 1.1/0.01; 1.1/0.03; 1.1/06; 1.1/0.09; 2.2/0.01; 2.2/0.03; 2.2/0.06; 2.2/0.09; 4.4/0.01; 4.4/0.03; 4.4/0.06; 4.4/0.09, 6.6/0.01; 6.6/0.03; 6.6/0.06 and 6.6/0.09 mM.
