Abstract:A method for the kinetic photometric determination of oxalate ion in aqueous solutions, in-cluding extracts from foodstuffs, has been suggested. The initial rate method has been used: the straight parts of kinetic curves (approximately 5 min) are processed by the least square method to get the slope coefficients used as analytical signals. The procedure is based upon the oxalate ion action as an activator in the iron(II)-catalyzed reaction of iodide oxidation by potassium bromate. Unlike the previously used li… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
