Abstract:Removing manganese from zinc electrolytes is necessary to pave the way for replacing lead-based anodes with mixed metal oxide (MMO) anodes. MMO anodes offer significantly lower overpotential towards oxygen evolution reactions, thus are attractive from an energy consumption viewpoint.
