Kinetics Adsorption of Strontium(II) by Silica Xerogel from Fly Ash

Abstract: A study of liquid waste adsorption containing strontium was carried out using the adsorption method using silica xerogel adsorbent. Silica xerogel synthesized from coal fly ash using the sol-gel method, produces a specific surface area of 84.8884 m2/g. This study was intended to determine the appropriate kinetics law. Data were obtained by following changes in Sr concentration to the time of adsorption at temperature of 25 ºC and 35 ºC. The data obtained was matched with 5 kinetic models, namely zeroth order k… Show more

“…The line equation obtained for GSHAC is y = 0.0057 x + 0.1961 with R 2 = 0.9566 while the GSHOAC is y = 0.0054 x + 0.0287 with R 2 = 0.9986. The pseudo‐second‐order adsorption kinetics model is a reaction whose speed is directly proportional to the results of the concentration of two reactants or directly proportional to the square of the concentration of one of its reactants (Aigbe & Osibote, 2020; Cortés et al., 2023; Geng et al., 2019; Kundari et al., 2020).…”
