Abstract: Quadrupedal animals traveling on arboreal supports change aspects of locomotion to avoid slipping and falls. This study compares locomotor biomechanics in two small mammals: first, the gray short‐tailed opossum (Monodelphis domestica) predominantly trots, which is a symmetrical gait.
