Abstract:Relevance. Rodents are often used as model of social isolation. In the present study, we investigated the effects of social isolation in Danio rerio. Danio rerio form groups, form social hierarchies and exhibit complex of social interactions similar to rodents. The expression of a number of brain genes of fish reared in isolation was found to be different from individuals reared in a group.
