PurposeRecognising the literature of a field is vital for advancement in that field. Yet, there has not been a systematic analysis of recent publications published in the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Insights (JHTI). Therefore, this research aims to do a bibliometric analysis of articles published in JHTI during the previous five years.Design/methodology/approachThis study used bibliometric techniques and indicators to analyse JHTI publications from 2018 to 2022. The data utilised in the study were obtained from Scopus and subsequently subjected to analysis through the Bibliometrix software.FindingsThe findings show good collaboration between the production components (country, institution and author) in JHTI. The co-occurrence analysis of keywords comprises five clusters; the co-citation analysis comprises six; and a group of articles connected with psychological aspects and areas such as motivation, attitude, customer engagement, place attachment and behavioural intention was the most remarkable cluster. Sharing economy, destination marketing, destination image and some, to an extent, social media and revenue management are just a few of the niche themes that have the potential to come up.Research limitations/implicationsThis study will be helpful as a roadmap for researchers in different fields who are interested in such studies, as well as for editorial board members and those who work in JHTI.Practical implicationsScholars and practitioners may benefit the most from this research by obtaining insight into the development of JHTI's research and the areas of the hospitality and tourism industries that need more study.Originality/valueThe current study is both necessary and valuable because it is the first to provide insight into the effectiveness and intellectual framework of the hospitality and tourism literature selected by the JHTI.

Background: A thorough bibliometric analysis of publications published in the field of chondrosarcoma research has not yet been performed using the Web of Science database, especially for publications published between 1993 and 2023. This study, with a focus on the fields of orthopedics, surgery, and oncology, aims to fill this knowledge gap by providing a thorough analysis of current knowledge in the field of chondrosarcoma. Methods: In this bibliometric study, a literature search was performed using the Web of Science database to find all publications on chondrosarcoma. A bibliometric software program was used for data visualization and analysis (opensource visualization application, Vosviewer). The Web of Science Core Collection data used for this retrospective bibliometric study, which covers the period from January 1993 to September 2023, revealed interesting trends in chondrosarcoma research. Results: As the most popular fields of study, orthopedics, surgery, and oncology account for a sizable portion of publications. A noteworthy increase in research output from 2014 to 2023, accounting for 41.74% of the papers, reflects the thriving research environment. The leading countries for publication were China, Japan, and the United States, demonstrating cross-border cooperation in chondrosarcoma research. Their contributions were highlighted by their important affiliations with institutions such as Harvard University, Leiden University, and China Medical University Taiwan. A thorough keyword mapping analysis also highlighted research priorities and encouraged interdisciplinary cooperation. The field’s scholarly importance and ongoing relevance are highlighted by the study’s high citation count (30,076) and highly cited articles. Conclusion: Overall, this study offers crucial insights into the development and collaborative nature of the chondrosarcoma research landscape and its long-lasting influence on academic research and clinical practice.

Syringomyelia can be associated with multiple etiologies. The treatment of the underlying causes is first-line therapy; however, a direct approach to the syrinx is accepted as rescue treatment. Any direct intervention on the syrinx requires a myelotomy, posing a significant risk of iatrogenic spinal cord (SC) injury. Intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) is crucial to detect and prevent surgically induced damage in neural SC pathways. We retrospectively reviewed the perioperative and intraoperative neurophysiological data and perioperative neurological examinations in ten cases of syringomyelia surgery. All the monitored modalities remained stable throughout the surgery in six cases, correlating with no new postoperative neurological deficits. In two patients, significant transitory attenuation, or loss of motor evoked potentials (MEPs), were observed and recovered after a corrective surgical maneuver, with no new postoperative deficits. In two cases, a significant MEP decrement was noted, which lasted until the end of the surgery and was associated with postoperative weakness. A transitory train of neurotonic electromyography (EMG) discharges was reported in one case. The surgical plan was adjusted, and the patient showed no postoperative deficits. The dorsal nerve roots were stimulated and identified in the seven cases where the myelotomy was performed via the dorsal root entry zone. Dorsal column mapping guided the myelotomy entry zone in four of the cases. In conclusion, multimodal IONM is feasible and reliable and may help prevent iatrogenic SC injury during syringomyelia surgery.
