Abstract: Background: Gingivitis in children or pubertal gingivitis occurs due to an increase in endocrine hormones which usually occurs in children under the age of 17 years or during adolescence. Gingivitis is an early stage of periodontal disease in the form of inflammation of the gingiva caused by poor oral hygiene resulting in accumulation of biofilm on plaque along the gingival margin.
